Fatigue

Any experienced motorcyclist will tell you that as much as we love to ride, riding a motorcycle is more tiring than driving a car. On long trips, you'll definitely tire sooner and fatigue may affect your control of the motorcycle. Of course, the #1 remedy is not to ride when tired, or at least try to avoid it. Here are a few more tips:

    • Limit your distance - experienced riders seldom ride more than 6 - 7 hours a day.

    • Take rest breaks frequently - stop and get off the bike at least every 2 hours.

    • Protect yourelf from the elements - wind, cold, and rain make you tire even more quickly.      Dress warmly, and carry rain gear. A windshield is worth the cost, especially if you plan to      ride long distances. And last, but certainly not least,

    • Don't use artificial stimulants - drugs and alcohol often lead to greater fatigue and depression      when they start to wear off, and riders are less able to concentrate on the task at hand.
