NJ Buffalo Soldier Edward 'Chip' Harshaw, Sr...
Hello:
My name is Edward Harshaw, Sr., aka Chip.
I was born in 1949, in Cleveland, Ohio. At two weeks old, I was brought to Wildwood, New Jersey, where I have resided for a large portion of my life.
I attended Wildwood High School and then Rowan University (formerly Glassboro State College). I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education, and have been teaching for 33 years. During college and early in my career, I joined the Navy Reserves and attended Officer's Candidate School in Newport, Rhode Island. Upon graduation, I was stationed on a Reserve Destroyer (USS Fox) and then at the Atlantic City Reserve Center.
I continued my career in education and have volunteered for many organizzations. I rode many years ago, and a few years ago, several of my friends insisted that I start riding. I purchased my 'horse' (a 2005 Suzuki Bouldvard M95), and began to ride again.
I have a lovely wife, Betty, and three wonderful children: a son, who is a United States Navy Corpman, and two daughters, a senior at Hofstra University on Long Island, New York and a Freshman at Iona College in New Rochelle, New York.
