'Zorro'

NJ Buffalo Soldier Joseph Ortiz

My name is Joseph L. Ortiz, but my friends call me Jose’ or just “O”.  I was born in Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico, but have lived the majority of my life in the state of New Jersey.

For the past 11 years, I have been employed by the Camden Board of Education.  I started as a Science Teacher and for the past six years, I have been a School Guidance Counselor.

I earned my B.S. from Cheyney University, an M.A. from Rowan University, and an Ed.S. from Seton Hall University.  I am an avid Educator who strives to be a role model for our youth in every field of human endeavor.  I am also a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated.

My favorite sporting interests are: football, boxing, basketball, and of course riding my motorcycle.  I have an eclectic taste in music…I listen to Latin Jazz, Hip-Hop, R&B, Reggae, Funk and even Ska. I’m a huge fan of horn sections, being a former trumpet player myself. (My favorite trumpeters are Chuck Mangione, Arturo Sandoval, Freddie Hubbard, Terence A. Blanchard and the entire Earth, Wind & Fire horn section).

I am married to a great lady and riding companion, Zenaida (aka Z-Breeze) and we have two children; Xavier and Aliyah.

I truly enjoy riding with the NJ Buffalo Soldiers… they are a great motley crew of people.  They adhere to tradition, community, safe riding, and above all…having a good time with similarly-minded people.

Live to Ride and Ride to Live.

Peace,

Zorro
